Back when I was a fast-rising corporate executive and Lisa was a Big 4 and then independent consultant we flew for business. A LOT.
We’ve both flown well over 2 million miles to over 50 countries.
Our shared travel addiction for both work and play is what brought us together in the first place.
When we got married my vows literally included a promise to never make her fly in basic economy class across an ocean.
So far we’ve kept that vow!
Now that we are digital nomads we still want affordable premium flying or an upgraded experience every time we fly.
So we seek out ways to make our flying experience as upscale as possible.
We also constantly seek out cheap business class fares for affordable luxury travel!
One of the very best ways to find premium fare deals is on FlyerTalk, an internet bulletin board dedicated to talking about flying, points and miles.
The Premium Fare Deals forum crowd-sources cheap premium economy, business class and first-class fares.
Another great resource is Premium-Flights, a website dedicated to cheap business and first class tickets.
We also use Google Flights to find cheap business class fares.
Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to fly in business class. Like on shorter flights or when the price for business can’t be justified.
When flying coach there are still ways to have an upscale flying experience.
Many airlines, especially discount airlines, now offer add-ons, buy-ups or packages that make flying in coach better.
When you fly coach you want the best seat possible. You want early boarding. You want more carry on cabin baggage.
Products like AirAsia Hot Seats or Premium Flex or Ryanair Flexi Plus give you those things for just a few dollars more.
