This Privacy Policy explains how Reidwald Ventures, LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as Ready Jet Roam (“Ready Jet Roam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use Ready Jet Roam websites, tools, newsletters, digital products, and related services.
Who we are and what this covers
Reidwald Ventures, LLC is the operator of Ready Jet Roam and the controller of the personal information described in this policy. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].
This policy covers readyjetroam.com and the Ready Jet Roam properties we control, including our checkout at shop.readyjetroam.com, our newsletter pages at newsletter.readyjetroam.com, and our guide landing pages at guides.readyjetroam.com. Some of these run on third-party platforms that also process your data under their own privacy terms: our checkout is operated by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record, and our email list runs on systeme.io. Where that matters, we say so below.
What we collect and why
Comments
When you leave a comment, we collect the data shown in the comment form along with your IP address and browser user agent to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it; after your comment is approved, your profile picture (if any) is visible next to your comment.
Contact form
When you contact us through the site, we receive what you submit (name, email address, and your message). It’s emailed to us and stored on our site so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
Newsletter
When you sign up for the newsletter, your email address (and your name, if you give it) is stored with our email platform, systeme.io, and used to send you the emails you asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops the emails.
The Packing Assistant
Information you enter into the Packing Assistant, such as trip details, packing selections, and custom packing items, is stored locally in your browser so your list can be restored later. We do not receive or store the contents of your packing list on our servers. If you choose to enter your email address on the results screen, we send it to systeme.io to add you to the newsletter, and we keep a short, rolling technical log of recent sign-up attempts so we can fix delivery problems.
Purchases
When you buy one of our digital guides, checkout runs through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. We receive order information such as your name, email address, country, the product purchased, order identifiers, and payment status. We do not receive your full card number; payment details are processed by Lemon Squeezy under its own privacy policy. We use order information to deliver your purchase, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the transaction records that tax and accounting rules require.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which content is useful and to improve the site. It may collect usage data such as pages viewed, links clicked, and approximate location (city or region). Where the law requires consent for analytics cookies, they are set only after you agree through the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings.
Affiliate links
Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you click one, the partner may set cookies or use similar technology on its own site to attribute your visit to us. Our Affiliate Disclosure lists our current partners.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and browser storage to remember your cookie choices, keep site features working (like saved packing lists), and run the analytics described above. The cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and your browser settings give you additional control. Blocking some cookies may affect site features.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content from another website behaves as if you visited that website directly: it may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction, especially if you have an account there and are logged in.
Legal bases for processing (EEA and UK)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent: non-essential cookies and analytics, and the newsletter. You can withdraw consent at any time by changing your cookie settings or unsubscribing, and withdrawing doesn’t affect processing that already happened.
- Contract: processing we need to sell, deliver, and support a product you bought, and steps you ask us to take before a purchase.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure, preventing spam and abuse, understanding in aggregate how content performs, and answering ordinary messages.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, and other records we’re required to keep.
Who we share data with
We share personal information with the providers that run the site and its services for us: our web host (DreamHost), our email platform (systeme.io), our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy), our analytics provider (Google), and the Gravatar service described under Comments. Some providers act only on our instructions; others, like Google and Lemon Squeezy, also process some data for their own purposes under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Beyond the providers above, we disclose personal information only if the law requires it or to protect our rights, and then only what’s required. If the business is ever sold or reorganized, customer records may transfer to the successor under this policy.
How long we keep data
- Comments: for as long as the comment stays published, so threads keep their context.
- Contact messages: for as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and keep a record of what was said.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We keep a suppression record afterward so we don’t email you again by mistake.
- Order records: for as long as tax, accounting, and consumer-protection rules require.
- Analytics: for the limited retention period configured in Google Analytics.
- Cookie choices: for as long as needed to honor and demonstrate them.
- Packing Assistant sign-up log: a short, rolling log of the most recent attempts only. Your packing list itself stays in your browser until you clear it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, object to or restrict how it’s used, and withdraw consent you’ve given. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first, and some information can’t be deleted while the law requires us to keep it.
If you’re in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
U.S. state privacy rights
Several U.S. states give their residents privacy rights, which can include knowing what’s collected, access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information. These laws apply to businesses above certain size thresholds, so not every right applies to every visitor, but we aim to honor reasonable requests regardless. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for targeted advertising, so there’s currently nothing to opt out of on that front; where a law requires us to recognize a universal opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, we honor it. If we decline a request you make under a state privacy law, you can appeal by replying to our response and we’ll take a second look.
International transfers
We’re based in the United States, and our providers process data in the U.S. and other countries. Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies to a transfer, we rely on recognized safeguards, such as adequacy frameworks or Standard Contractual Clauses, as implemented by each provider.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, and our providers do the same for the systems they run. No online system is perfectly secure, so use caution when sharing information online.
Children’s privacy
The site isn’t directed to children under 13 (or the higher age local law sets), and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site and the law change. The current version is always this page, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
